Celebrating 100 Years of Being Gaslighted by Modern Art.

 A urinal which Marcel Duchamp titled Fountain and signed "R. Mutt". It  is regarded by the art establishment as a major landmark in modern art. Replicas commissioned by Duchamp in the 1960s are now on display in a number of different museums around the world.

Karla Blacks suspended paper and plastic sheeting, called What To Ask For Others, was shortlisted to win the 2011 Turner Prize - the world's most prestigious art competition.

The niece of a friend of mine was a brilliant and gifted young artist. She won a scholarship to one of the world's most prestigious art schools - where she presented a portfolio of her stunning drawings and watercolours. By the time she graduated, she had not picked up a brush or pencil in over a year and was stapling bird feathers to an old shipping pallet as her graduation work. She now works as a receptionist at a dental clinic.

The term "Gaslighting" is used to describe how a psychopath in a personal relationship with another person will slowly over time change the reality and perceptions of the individual they are targeting. A proficient psychopath will, in time, have a once perfectly stable and emotionally healthy person literally believing that black is white and up is down. Essentially, the psychology of the target has been altered in a way to accept what they see before their own eyes - is not what they once believed it to be.

One of the most effective forms of public gaslighting has been modern art.  As a rule, I do not like to put down other artists work. But there seems to be almost a secret cabal between public bodies, art colleges, some artists and exhibition spaces/managers to fill these spaces with shock art or art which is as uninspiring as possible. The vast majority of public and corporate funding goes into promoting these forms of art - while gifted talented traditional artists have to beg private galleries to stock their work with commissions up to 50% on the sale price not uncommon.

I came upon one installation recently which was an old telephone on a table with a present day directory beside it. From the telephone there was a wire extending up to a glass box on the wall - which contained a life sized sculpture of the human ear made of the artist's own ear wax. I see this kind of thing is everywhere in public art spaces now - in fact, I can hardly recall a time when this sort of art did not fill public art spaces. Such "modern" art - from around the time of DaDa movement on - still continues to win all the art awards and the artists proclaimed as geniuses right to the present day. No other art movement in history has survived for so long.

The rationale used to defend this degradation of art is; that all expression should be free and unlimited. That the "concept" behind the work is more important than the artwork itself. Highly paid members of art councils, college professors and media will invoke "freedom of expression" and pontificate about the Nazis and the concepts of degenerate arts and "what it led too..." The irony being, that the greatest censorship in the art world today is by these same individuals against more traditional artistic expressions in terms of painting, drawing and sculpture.

As with everything on this face of this planet which makes no sense to most humans, there is always a underlying psychopathic rationale/drive for how this situation has come about. In this case, the degradation of the aesthetic, along with our notions of emotional resonance when viewing artwork - is being used to make corporate advertising more appealing.

The powers that be are gaslighting the rest of us by changing our perceptions - so corporate advertising looks more beautiful and uplifting than the art inside the galleries. When people visit spaces such as the Tate Modern in London to have their consciousness perverted, twisted and distorted into a mundane cul-de-sac of spiritually and emotionally vapid installations - they will come outside and see colourful advertisements. The psychological impact of the advertisement is then far more powerful on the viewer. Charles Saatchi of the global advertising agency Saatchi & Saatchi,  is also known worldwide as an art collector and owner of the Saatchi Gallery, and in particular for his sponsorship of the Young British Artists (YBAs), including Damien Hirst and Tracey Emin.

The "Empowered" Whore Archetype Destroying the Feminine

Mass media is too powerful/invasive and has led to the destruction of the feminine aspect of Western culture - which once represented wisdom and nurturing, and replaced it with "empowering" whore archetypes such as the airbrushed, nymphomaniac dregs on shows like Sex and the City. This has derailed Western society away from notions of feminine wisdom towards a completely superficial narcissistic bling-culture-on-herpes-medication in heavy Max Factor packaging. Because this is how the present psychopathic mainstream considers women to be.

Society should be female - currently, society is a psychopathic male in terms of what it delivers to all of us.

This damages both men and women - as most men today expect a woman to be a tart, and many women seek and marry plastic surgeons in the hope of not being discarded. So Western society has become increasingly misogynistic even with the success of women's lib and so on. A man can not marry a woman who is intelligent, loving and secure unless she is also "hot" - likewise, women are coached to look for men who will finance their media driven delusions of what being beautiful is. The rest of us are discarded for not being superficial enough. Psychopaths control the mass media and this insanity has distorted a lot of the population to emulate this pathology as the new norm.

The male psychopaths in charge are Gaslighting women through the media - while turning men into adult children. The spiritual vacuum (and I am not talking religion here at all) left in many people is filled with a distorted sense of self. If your soul has been made empty, you will seek to fill it with nothing of any value regardless of the price tag, or what pointless social status it furnishes you with.

We need to shut the Psychopathic Control Grid down through awareness and creative non-compliance. Then we will get the society we deserve.

Bridget Jones is not cute, charming or symbolic of modern womanhood. She is a vapid, stupid mess and this is what the ones charge want - makes women easier to control and buy stuff to try and repair the dysfunctionality  mass media has created in the first place.

Be Fair, Emotionally Neutral and Be Honest with Yourself

I cannot stress enough that one should not declare a person to be a "psychopath" unless you are completely sure you have fairly and honestly evaluated them with as much emotional neutrality as possible. The label "psychopath" is essentially stating that they are not a proper human being.

Putting this tag on anyone—no matter much they may have wronged you—must not be taken lightly. A psychopath is the human psychological version of a tapeworm. It gets inside a person, family, organisation, workplace, company or government and feeds on the energy of the normal people around "it" depriving them of their sense of self and their emotional/psychological and often financial security. Even so, not every lowlife and manipulator is a psychopath. Most times a creep is just that, a creep.

 

Not every person who makes our lives miserable, acts like a creep, a serial womaniser, gets elected, runs a major corporation or engages in criminal activities is a psychopath

In the early days of recovery from an encounter it can become only too convenient to claim that anyone who has ever wronged you is or was a psychopath. We must bear in mind that over ninety-five percent of the human race are not psychopaths. A good number of these people have done terrible things in their lives, but they are still not psychopaths because they still retain the desire for redemption.

Psychopaths are no more than 4% of the population. However, the damage and misery they inflict on others is enormous so they can seem to be everywhere. They are not. Most people you will meet will mean you no harm, nor have any desire to exploit, manipulate, hurt, damage or use you. Keep this in mind.

However, people who have been genuinely affected by a psychopath who passed through their lives know precisely what they were dealing with after a period inner reflection/revelation/discoveries in the aftermath and they have no doubts they were dealing with a psychopath all the time—but never came fully to terms with it until it was too late. These sincere victims need support and understanding and not to be judged or told to "get over it!" or worse still "you bought this all on yourself..."

Life is really good once we transcend the Psychopathic Control Grid. It is almost like being reborn a wiser, mature and a more complete person. What happens to the psychopath who damaged you is no concern of yours. They are history and never coming back.

 

NO CONTACT EVER AGAIN

No contact also applies to toxic or negative people whom you can't be comfortable around, including psychopaths. Being around these people has serious health implications.

Our time on this planet is short. Your job is to look after yourself and find the countless millions of wonderful people out there to share your life with. They are waiting for you. So stay positive, friendly and wise.

The painting at the top of this post was inspired by a neighbour of mine who was recovering from cancer and everyday I watched her walk a slightly longer distance up the road until one day she was well enough to reach the crossroads at the end of the village. I found her so inspiring and learned so much from this ordinary woman of what the human spirit is capable of overcoming.
